Microsoft word always had a program that help you set up business cards, I can find nothing like this using Microsoft office 2007. Any suggestions would help. Even if any one can tell me a different program that does business cards free. I downloaded business cards mx but they put a water mark on the finished card.

Answer:

The watermark is removed if you buy the program.

In Word 2003, it’s under Tools: Envelopes: Labels.

Microsoft Office 2007 is a suite of office tools that includes Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access. There is no “program” in Word to do business cards. You do it from Tools: Mailings: Labels.

Here are some business card templates: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT010253223.aspx

Question:

The email address is no longer valid and I paid for a thousand of them of which I probably have 800 left. Any craft ideas?
As much as I’d like to reuse them, I’m a photographer and have since moved from plain white cards with black raised ink to full color business cards. Remarking the old cards doesn’t work for the people I deal with.

Answer:

Donate them to an elementary school or kindergarten. They can use them to make flash cards.

Question:

I work at a Barber Shop and I wanted to put my prices on my business cards so people could already know how much I charged before they came. I don’t like when people come to the shop, ask about the prices, and then have to leave and go elsewhere because they’re on a budget. So I was wondering if putting my prices on my cards would be a good idea or not. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

I don’t think it’s a good idea. I used to be a computer programmer and if that were programming code, we’d call that “hard coding”. Hard coding is never a good idea because when things change, you have to have a programmer change the code. In a business card scenario, that means you’ll need new cards printed. Why not create a customer loyalty business card, instead.

Here’s a cool idea to do that. Design one of these $5 bill money cards. They’ve folded. One side has the look of real money and on the other side you can print whatever you like. In addition to usual stuff that goes on a business care, have 5 circles on the card like along the bottom. Each circle represents a hair cut. Each time they come in, stamp one of the circles with you own personal rubber stamp*. When they have 5 circle’s stamped, they get $5 off their 6th cut.

*Stamps – I worked at a place where we had to stamp the bottom of documents that came into the office to prove that they came through our office. So no one could just walk into an office supply store and buy a stock rubber stamp, we had the stamps custom made. The image was nothing more than a bunch of little black and white clip art pictures with transparent backgrounds, all stacked on top of each other. There was a hammer, a chair, and several other images. The entire finished image was smaller than a dime. The stamp making place takes this image and makes a rubber stamp out of it. Or, you could have a cool little logo designed. Say, something like a head shot of a hair cut. Just Google “royalty free stock images” to find places. I use 123rf.com, DreamsTime.com, iStockPhoto.com just to name a few.

Card stock? Not. Just go to Staple, Office Depot, OfficeMax, etc. and get some Avery Clean Edge Business Card Paper. The cards are already cut and peel right off the page after printing. The edges are smooth. No perfs like back in the old days.

Question: I just started my own business and am about to have business cards made. I have found a lot of unconventional business cards on the web and I would like to do something different than the regular black and white card. There are hundreds of sites that just make business cards, but are there any that specifically make “unconventional” business cards? Thanks.
Yes, I have looked at Vistaprint. They are just regular business cards… I’m looking for something a little more unconventional.

Answer: You don’t say what your business is. “Unconventional” is subjective. It could be as different as a font, color, paper type, images or shape. Check out Moo.com for starters. You can have many different images in a single order of cards. They also have different shapes and sizes.

But if you want something way out there, you’re going to need to figure out what it is so you’ll be able to narrow you search with targeted keywords. Say you have a dog grooming business and you want a card shaped like a dog. THEN you can search on “business cards shaped like a dog”, rather than “unconventional business cards”.

A: Photographer, simply because that’s what you do. If you’re confident in your work and you already have a stash of some photos you’ve taken that you’re especially proud of, head over to Moo.com and upload your images for those slick cards they have where you can print up to 50 different images on a single order. That way when you hand your cards out, ppl will already see your work.
